Marilyn, spuntano scatti inediti in bikini
Li ha comprati per due dollari un collezionista in un mercatino delle pulci
Una serie di foto inedite di Marilyn Monroe in costume da bagno, ritrovate per caso nel 1980, sono state pubblicate oggi sul sito web della Cnn, a pochi giorni dall'85.mo compleanno della mitica attrice, morta suicida nel 1962. Le foto e i negativi erano stati acquistati da un collezionista, Anton Fury, ad una mercato delle pulci di Parsippany, nel New Jersey, per due dollari.
C'erano due buste: la prima con gli inediti di Marilyn, la seconda con foto e negativi di Jayne Mansfield. Fury, che è un fotografo, ha dato il permesso alla CNN di pubblicare gli scatti solo qualche giorno dopo quello che sarebbe stato l'85.mo compleanno della mitica Marilyn.
Da dove provengano quelle foto rimane però un mistero. Quando le acquistò nel 1980 nel marcatino delle pulci, Fury non sapeva esattamente di cosa si trattasse. Solo una volta arrivato a casa e sviluppato i negativi si è reso conto di avere di fronte delle immagini mai viste di Marilyn. "L'unica cosa di cui siamo certi è di chi si tratti - ha spiegato Fury -. Per il resto non sappiamo che le abbia scattate, quando, dove e nemmeno il perché".
Uno dei motivi per cui adesso il fotografo ha voluto diffondere questi scatti, è la speranza che qualcuno vedendoli li riconosca e faccia luce sul mistero. Pochissimi gli elementi a disposizione: il contesto, che pare essere quello della Los Angeles degli anni 50, e un uomo che si vede tanto negli scatti di Marilyn che in quelli di Jane Mansfield, forse il fotografo stesso.

Charming unseen photographs of Marilyn Monroe taken by her trusted make-up artist to get her to relax on a film set have emerged for sale.
The archive of Allan ‘Whitey’ Snyder is remarkable because of the quantity of snaps that were not meant for publication.
So trusted was Synder that Monroe often asked him to photograph her because it helped calm her nerves before filming.

The amateur shoots brought her to life and these images show a 27-year-old Monroe totally at ease, wearing a low-cut red T-shirt and a cream skirt.
They are a world away from the international sex symbol she went on to become.

The pictures were taken on the film set of the 1953 movie Niagra, one of her first leading roles. The famous Niagra Falls can be seen in the background.
Snyder was Monroe's professional and personal make-up artist for 16 years and there is a photo of him putting make-up on her face.
He was an important part of her inner-circle and was a pallbearer at her funeral in 1962 as he had promised her he would be.

There are dozens of pictures from the sets of other films including Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, The Prince and the Showgirl, Niagara and Something's Got to Give.
The archive includes letters and other ephemera and is expected to fetch thousands of pounds when it all goes under the hammer at auction.
Darren Julien, of Julien's auctioneers, said: ‘Whitey Snyder died in the 1990s and these items have come from his estate, so they have never been seen before.
‘Whitey was Marilyn's make-up artist for 16 years and had unlimited access to her.
‘They met when Monroe had her first screen test at 20th Century Fox in 1946.

‘Sometimes, especially in the early days of her movie career, she would get nervous on set and Whitey would photograph her and she would come to life.
‘It would take her mind off all her problems and this would happen during down time on film sets.
‘Some of them even show her in costume and they were never intended to be released to the public.
‘There are many other items in the archive as well as photographs and collectors and institutions will be keen to own them.’
The sale also includes a rare calendar with a picture of a naked Monroe on it.
The picture was taken by Tom Kelly and famously appeared in the first edition of Playboy.

Mr Julien said: ‘These calendars used to sell for about 300 or 400 dollars but recently they are going for up to $6,000.
‘This one is in good condition and Marilyn couldn't do anything about the picture being licensed because she had no control over it.
‘But in a way it was the picture that helped launch her career.’
The archive will be sold in Beverley Hills, California, during a two-day sale starting on March 31.
